Caitlin is an art student from New York City that was recently taking the subway home from work when another passenger, a man, started talking down to another woman on the train. It was late at night, and Caitlin stared at the man in an attempt to stop him, but it turned out that it wasn’t enough, so she eventually took out her phone and filmed herself calling him out. She later uploaded the video on the popular video-sharing network TikTok, and it’s one of the most empowering, yet most disturbing videos ever. It has already been viewed more than 2 million times, and you can check it out for yourself below.

As it turns out, Caitlin noticed the other woman on the subway looking distressed, so she realized that something was way off. The TikToker told BuzzFeed that the man was telling the woman that he didn’t really care that she had a boyfriend and explicitly talked to her about what he was going to do to her and what it would feel like for her.

Caitlin initially shared the video as a part of a trend where a song is supposed to fit the last video on your camera roll, but once she scrolled past her library, her last saved video was the one yelling at the man. She loaded it up with the song and it matched perfectly, so she decided to post it.

The issue is very real and very common, and it’s something that happens to almost every woman out there.

“In this society, we’ve been trained to mind our own business, and that catcalling and pushing boundaries is something women are just supposed to be used to. It doesn’t matter what you wear or what you’re doing, the majority of men still think they have the right to openly sexualize people however they please.” – she told BuzzFeed.

After her TikTok went viral, Caitlin also addressed some of the most popular comments
