Flirting or even chatting with someone is okay when you’re clearly welcomed and reciprocated. However, the first red flag and a sign that you should give up is when one of the participants is clearly uncomfortable.

Mickey Ruiz is a TikToker who shared a video example of how NOT to chat someone up. She shared the video on her TikTok profile, and it gained massive popularity in a short amount of time. In the video, she filmed herself responding to a guy who came into the shop where she was working.

She clearly pointed out that she was just trying to do her job, but the customer began asking her personal questions, such as whether she was still studying, what school she attended, and even how old she was.

Mickey responded with short answers, not giving him any more info that she needed to. She even said that she lied in some of her responses, and it was clear that she wasn’t welcoming further conversation. The man even tried to create some sort of spark, when she told him that he was ‘all set’ with his purchase.

The video has since been viewed more than 6.5 million times, and many TikTokers expressed their anger at the man’s refusal to give up.
Mickey filmed a follow up video in which she explained why she was not ‘required’ to give answers to the man’s personal questions about her life, and she further added that the video was just an evidence of her trying to be safe.
