Woman Machinist Quits Her Job After Realizing That a Newbie She Trains Is Being Paid More

It’s a common practice that two people working the same job, in the same company, might get different pay. Usually, it’s due to their experience, skills, loyalty to the company, etc. Expectedly, someone that’s been in the company gets higher pay for the same job than someone who just go in. Or maybe not.

Reddit user u/Equallyraisin recently shared the story of how she realized she was getting paid less than someone who was just recently hired in the company. In fact, she was assigned to train the new guy, and she was getting less money than him.

She share the story to the popular r/antiwork Subreddit, and people online were really supportive of her. The post received more than 42k upvotes, and everyone agreed that the woman was treated unfairly.

To make things worse, she shared that she’s a machinist who happens to be a woman, so she’s well aware that women are a minority in the profession.
