There is this issue with great artists, they are always the ones that have the most doubts about themselves and their art. It is exactly that thin line between self-doubt and perfectionism that motivates them to get better with each next piece.

However, too many insecurities can actually block one’s progress and prevent them from reaching their full potential.

This is exactly why this Reddit user Gaddafo tried to use his profile on the social platform to promote his mother’s art. Namely, she is a painter that is too shy to show off with her skills so her son posted a photo from one of her paintings on Reddit.

He explains: “My mom painted this and said no one would like it. It’s her 2nd painting,”. Nonetheless, when he posted the picture he had no idea of the chain of reactions that he would cause by people who supported this in a very unique and artistic way.

Reddit user Cacahahadoodoo asked from the people on the forum to help make his post popular with an idea. “Someone paint the photo of his mom holding her painting and repost it with the same title for extra extra karma,” he said. You can guess, it didn’t take too long for this to happen and it created a ‘snowball effect’. Check out the original photo and all that followed below.

After this photo was published, is when the ‘paintception’ started.
