Boss Takes Photo of Tireless Mom Taking Care for Her Newborn While Working

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that more than 70 percent of working moms in the US have children aged under 18, and Melody Blackwell is one of them.

Melody works as a chiropractic assistant, and she recently took her three-month maternity leave after she gave birth to her daughter Nora-Jo. Even though she works from home most days, she is allowed to bring her baby to work with her every Monday at the Maryland Farms Chiropractic in Tennessee.

The mom shared that her daughter would just sit up in front of her while she does her work, and then she’ll usually either hold her when she sleeps or has a carrier that she puts her in.
Bringing her daughter to work cuts back on the hefty child care expenses and allows the mom to continue breastfeeding her baby, so it’s a win-win situation.

However, Melody’s boss, Dr. Elizabeth Baker, noticed Melody taking a phone call while writing down some notes and holding her daughter at the same time. She was so touched that she took a photo and shared it on Facebook, where it went viral.
